How The Keep handles your data.
The Keep is a campaign-tracking tool made by Studio Pepwuper Ltd. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We keep it short because the app does not do much with your data beyond running the service. Last updated: 16 June 2026.
What we collect
- Account details. When you sign in we store the email address you use to authenticate, so we can identify your account and your campaigns.
- Campaign content. Everything you create in the app — characters, relationships, notes, groups, and any map image you upload — is stored so we can show it back to you and to anyone you share a link with.
- Basic technical data. Like most websites, our hosting and backend providers process standard request information (such as IP address and browser type) to serve the site and keep it secure. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
How we use it
We use your data only to provide the service: to sign you in, to store and display your campaigns, and to render the player-safe view for the share links you create. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone except the service providers below.
Service providers
We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run The Keep. Your data is processed by Convex (database, file storage, and authentication) and Netlify (web hosting). Each processes data on our behalf to operate the service.
Share links
When you create a share link, anyone who has that link can see the player-safe view of that campaign — that is the point of the feature. Referee-only notes are never included in a shared view. Share links are stored only as a hashed token, and you can revoke any link at any time, which immediately stops it from working.
Cookies
We use a single cookie to keep you signed in. It is essential to the app and is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
Keeping and deleting your data
You can delete individual campaigns from within the app at any time. You can also export a full copy of any campaign as a file, so your data is never locked in. If you would like your account and all associated data removed, contact us and we will delete it.
Children
The Keep is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will update the date above. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
